The Method

A conventional cable-laying apparatus has been adapted for the removal of the cable. Towed behind a tractor the blade has a power cable pulling assembly mounted above it.

This hydraulically driven pulling wheel pulls the cable from the ground behind the advancing blade. The cable is now exposed and lies on the ground ready for pickup.

This removal method has the same environmental impact as plowing in a cable, which means a small trim dozer or a tractor backhoe can perform clean up and restoration to the Right of Way. Compared to trenching clean up behind this plow is minimal. It is much faster and less of an impact on the soil conditions in farming areas as it leaves the topsoil in place.

This system has proven itself very effective in many types of ground conditions.
